Programme

Emley almost took a very early lead in the game played at Wakefield Trinity's Belle Vue ground, but Day's header from a Nicholson cross was ruled out for offside. Simon Johnson was denied by a fine save from the Emley keeper midway through the first half but it was Emley that took the lead ten minute before the interval. Brambrook's shot from a Jones centre was blocked by Paul Robinson, but he was unable to prevent Mark Wilson from netting the rebound. On the hour United were unlucky not to draw level when Alan Cawley's corner rattled the crossbar. David Sherman replaced Kevin Dixon at Right Half after sixty-three minutes. Emley doubled their lead in the seventy-eighth minute when Day headed home a Brambrook cross to give Emley a 0-2 win.
